LEE REED is a Hamilton OG and a veteran of the Kanadian Indie music scene. For over 25 years he's been stomping stages and studios, spewing his unique brand of fiery, anti-capitalist rant-hop. From mouthpiece for the legendary Warsawpack, and throughout his solo work, Reed’s musical legacy has remained committed to revolutionary struggle, and the fight for a better world:  voicing anti-authoritarian and anti-capitalist politics through Hip-Hop; and soundtracking and signal-boosting the efforts of communities and organizers struggling on the frontline for social and environmental justice // He's toured Canada and Europe, and warmed the stage for some serious industry heavyweights, including:  Bad Religion, Mos Def, Feist, Alexisonfire, Protest the Hero, Sage Francis, Death From Above, Saul Williams, Fishbone, Roots Manuva, K-OS, The Sadies.. and a long list of other big name artists still wondering what became of their backstage veggie platter & beer stash. He's rocked pubs & nightclubs; house shows & rec centres; parades & blockades; reservations, demonstrations & occupations; and some of the nation's finest festivals.. incl. Hillside, Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop, Supercrawl, Harvest Picnic, Under the Volcano, Kazoo!, Scene, CMW, NXNE, etc. He's had features & interviews with CBC Radio 1, 2 & 3; Much Music; Exclaim!; Now; The Georgia Straight; The View and most of the City weeklies from Halifax to Victoria.  He's released 9 recordings, including 5 solo releases, that have all hit #1 on local community/campus radio charts.  And he's amassed a sizeable pile of trophies, plaques, certificates, hugs & handpounds.. and a well-beaten trail of free couch parking from Mi'kma'ki to Tla-o-qui-aht  // A 2019 Polaris Prize nominee, and a proud member of the Strange Famous label roster, Reed shows no signs of slowing down in his old age.. continuing to create and perform some of the most relevant revolutionary Hip-Hop this side of 1989 // Hide your bankers. Hide your cops // 🖤✊🏴
